Change in Kroger's coupon policy

Has anyone else notice a change in how coupons are ringing up at Kroger? They used to double all coupons up to $.50, no matter what the cost of the item was. I had some $.50 off coupons for Suave Deodorant and they were on sale for $.88 each. My coupons would have normally doubled to $1.00, but I noticed that they only took off the $.88. So no more overage from coupons at Kroger. They also are getting stricter with only allowing 2 like coupons per transaction.

Santa Claus take 1

We went to Sam's Club today in hopes of finding Lilli her last Christmas present. I had a $20 gift card from cashing in Gifts to Grow points from Pampers. Anyways, back on topic.

They announced that Santa Claus was in the store. Jack got really excited. We finished our shopping and then Santa Claus found us. This was how Jack and Mia reacted...

Both look almost scared to death. Hopefully when we see Santa Claus again, they won't be so scared.



Steven walked away with the kids and Santa pulled me aside. He asked if I went to PMHS and graduated in 2004. I think I gave him the "WTHeck" look. He is a teacher there, who I never had personally. Steven said, "See Santa knows everything."

I FINALLY got to sleep in MY bed

It's been almost 2 years since I have been able to sleep in my own bed. When I first became pregnant with Mia, I would fall asleep on the couch and my husband would just leave me there. As the pregnancy progressed, I couldn't climb into the bed because of how high it is. Then Jackson decided he was taking mommy's spot in the bed. That resulted in a huge struggle to get him out of my bed and into his own. The only thing that worked on getting Jack out of my bed was buying him a twin bed. The twin bed has been a hit! He sleeps in it every night! SCORE!

So last night, I slept in my bed. WITHOUT kids! I'm so excited for a full night of sleep!

Jack has a big boy bed!!!!

Jack has never had a room of his own. I feel safer with him downstairs in my bedroom. Well we decided about a year ago that he needed a toddler bed. So we found a great deal on Craigslist and bought him a toddler bed. He slept in it a total of 3 times, maybe. He was too "big" for his crib and preferred to only sleep in mommy and daddy's bed. And we let him, well daddy let him.

Once I would be ready to go to bed, Jack and Daddy took up too much of the full-size bed we have. So I resorted to sleeping on the couch. Well this past week, I worked on getting his crib down (yes it was still up) and getting the toddler bed out of the room. I bought him a very beautiful daybed (another Craigslist find) and a new mattress. Well after all of that was done, I decided I wanted a new armoire (so to Craigslist I went). I found a very beautiful armoire (that took 2 hours to load in my car) for $75! Major Score!!! It holds all of mommy and daddy's clothes! Every single thing! I also got rid of Mia's dresser. She needed something bigger then a lingerie chest.

It's been a very full week of moving furniture and cleaning. I wish I was done. We've already made 1 Goodwill run and I still need to go through one closet. Jack fell asleep within 2 minutes in his "big boy bed." No fighting. No Screaming. MOMMY WINS!!!!....

Or so I thought..... I went to climb into MY bed and Mia started crying. I picked her up and decided to put her in bed with me. Well daddy ended up taking up 2/3 of the bed. So with Mia and I in there, I couldn't fit. So I left them in MY bed and retreated back to the couch.

Maybe tomorrow I'll get to sleep in MY bed...

My coupon adventures today

I started the day at the closest Dollar General to my house. I had 14 coupons for Libby's vegetables. The coupon read "receive $1.00 off when you purchase 3 Libby's items". They had their Libby's vegetables on sale for 3/$1. The computer wouldn't accept them so the clerk called the manager. The manager didn't want to accept them because the computer would not allow it. She didn't want to push them through. She called her help desk (I'm assuming) to find out a way to get them to go through. After being on the phone for 20 minutes, she was told to just do a generic coupon and push them all through. She wasn't too happy with this. After another 20 minutes, she finished manually entering all of them in. She was very upset and then proclaimed to the store "We aren't accepting these Libby coupons. I'm sorry, our system is not honoring them." She finally gave us our items and we were able to leave.

Total spent at Dollar General - $0


I received some of the coupons I had ordered in the mail today. So I went to Kroger after the kids were asleep. I stocked up with the Pillsbury/General Mills promotion that is going on right now. My order looked like this..

FREE Libby's Vegetables at Dollar General!

Dollar General has Libby’s canned vegetables on sale 3 for $1– which is an awesome sale price but even sweeter when you use a coupon! You can use the $1/3 coupon from the 8/29 RP and/or the 8/29 Parade magazine. Your final cost will be 3 FREE cans of veggies! Stock up!

Kroger Fuel Rewards

Kroger has a great program that allows you to get $.10 off at the gas station when you spend $100 in the store. The $100 total is after all Kroger discount, but before all coupons are taken off! I wasn't aware that they had changed their program and are now allowing you to use up to 10 $.10 savings (a $1.00 value off 1 gallon of gas up to 35 gallons....so you can save up to $35) at a time now. They used to only allow you one $.10 off per transaction. So I accidentally used them all on my last trip. I called my mom to brag (we share a card) and she then informed me that I had indeed used them all up for that month and that no one else will be able to use them. I felt like an idiot.
